3D Reconstruction of Jaws
The virtual planning and three-dimensional (3D) printing modeling using preoperative computed tomographic (CT) data has been introduced to permit more accurate reconstruction. Based on the data, we can simulate the resection of mandibular bone, segment and shaping of fibular Flap and transfer the virtual plan to intraoperative templates. The true-to-size models and templates are easy to obtain by the 3D printing technology. These techniques help the surgeons to achieve near perfect size and shape of Jaws.
